Who these terms apply to

These terms govern every booking made with Professor AB Stuurman Ka Nxuba Guest House at 234A Steve Biko Street, Gugulethu, Cape Town, 7750, South Africa. By making a booking you accept them on behalf of everyone in your party. Please read them together with our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

Making a booking

• A booking becomes a confirmed reservation only once we have received your deposit or full payment and sent you a confirmation.
• An unpaid booking is held for 24 hours, after which the room is released for other guests.
• The lead guest must be 18 or older and is responsible for the whole party.
• Please book for the correct number of guests. A room may not be occupied by more people than it sleeps, and we may refuse entry or charge for an extra guest.
• Stays run from 1 to 30 nights. For anything longer, please contact us directly.

Rates and payment

• Rates are quoted per room per night in South African Rand and include breakfast, Wi-Fi, parking and VAT where applicable.
• A deposit of 50% of the total confirms your booking. The balance is payable on or before arrival unless we agree otherwise.
• We accept EFT bank transfer and Visa or Mastercard.
• Card payments are processed on PayFast's secure, PCI-compliant page. We never see or store your card number.
• EFT payments must quote your booking reference so that we can match them. Payment is treated as received when the funds reflect in our account at First National Bank, account 00000000000.
• Rates may change, but never for a booking we have already confirmed.

Arrival and departure

• Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out is by 10:00.
• Tell us in advance if you expect to arrive late and we will make arrangements.
• Late departure without agreement may be charged at a further night.
• We may ask for identification on arrival.

Changing or cancelling your booking

• To change dates or rooms, contact us as early as you can. Changes depend on availability and the difference in rate is payable.
• Cancellations and refunds are covered in full by our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
• In summary: Free cancellation up to 72 hours before check-in. Cancellations inside 72 hours forfeit the deposit.

House rules

• No smoking indoors. Please smoke outside in the designated area.
• Quiet hours are from 22:00 to 06:00 out of respect for other guests and our neighbours.
• Visitors who are not booked guests must be signed in at reception and may not stay overnight.
• Pets are not accommodated, with the exception of registered service animals.
• Please do not move furniture between rooms.

Your conduct and any damage

• You are responsible for any loss or damage caused by you or your party, beyond ordinary wear and tear, and we may charge the reasonable cost of repair or replacement.
• We may ask any guest whose behaviour endangers, threatens or seriously disturbs others to leave without a refund.
• Please look after your key and report a lost key at once.

Our responsibility to you

• We take reasonable care to keep the property safe and in good order.
• Parking is provided free of charge and is used at your own risk. Please do not leave valuables in your vehicle.
• We are not liable for loss or damage to your belongings except where it results from our negligence.
• We are not liable for interruptions outside our control, such as loadshedding, water outages or extreme weather, though we will always do our best to keep you comfortable.
• Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.

Your personal information

• We collect only what we need to take and manage your booking, we do not sell it, and card details never reach our systems.
• Our Privacy Policy explains in full what we collect, why, who else sees it, how long we keep it and what rights you have under the Protection of Personal Information Act.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 applies where relevant. Nothing here removes any right you have under that Act.
